Chicago-based Ramsey Lewis will be playing the Wharton Center Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. with vocalist Ann Hampton Calloway. Tickets range from $22 to $42.Lauded for his incredible technique and performances, Lewis started playing the piano when he was four years old. Since then, he’s recorded over 80 albums, won three Grammy Awards and even carried the Olympic torch.
Some have criticized his style and the way he brings in elements of pop, blues, gospel, smooth jazz and more into his music. Whatever you call it, his brand of jazz is fun and easy to listen to.
